The impressive Villa Mela in Santorini is part of a fantastic complex comprising of 4 separate buildings within a 15th century meticulously renovated and highly preserved wine and tsipouro factory. Each building has been transformed into a fantastically unique holiday villa, while retaining the original character of each building.
Fusing the traditional feel and style with a more modern minimal design was the main focus of the task, which was admittedly performed impeccably. The villa boasts impressively high ceilings, as this used to be part of the area were the barrels were stored, giving off a sense of freedom and ample space. In the living area, an old preserved piece of machinery is on display as an artefact. And those are just a couple of the features of this strikingly impressive villa that will pleasantly impress you.
Santorini Villa Mela can accommodate 4 (+1) guests, throughout its 92sqm. grounds, and over 2 levels. Guests will also have access to both the main and the terrace shared pools, as well as the main kitchen.
Interior
Villa Mela offers an impressive interior design, which tends to charm guests to the point that they hardly ever want to leave this villa! The emphasis on white, as the dominant native colour throughout this region of the Aegean Sea and all of the Cycladic Islands, highlights the dynamic of each of the pieces of furniture chosen, as well as the architecture of the building.
The highlight of this Santorini villa is definitely an old, yet well-preserved machine from the old wine & tsipouro factory, that has been incorporated in the open plan living area just beneath the loft/bedroom. Villa Mela offers two bedrooms with double beds. The master bedroom comes with an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub, a shower, and a dressing room. The second bedroom is located on the loft area of the villa, just above the open plan living space. An extra bathroom with a shower is available.
The fully equipped kitchen artfully blends in with the rest of the space, offering guests a range of cooking utensils and utilities, in case you desire to dine indoors.

The exterior spaces of this Santorini villa are equally generous in choices and impressive in style. Unique choices for alfresco arrangements are offered throughout the outdoor spaces.
Guest of Villa Mela will have access to both the shared swimming pools, the main pool which offers counter-current swimming, and the terrace pool that offers sunset views over the island.
Moreover, those who choose to stay in Villa Mela will also have access to the public areas of the property, which include a gas stove kitchen, a wine cellar, a dining area for 12, and an exterior bar!
Whereabouts
Villa Mela is located in the traditional picturesque village of Pyrgos (meaning tower), literally a ‘no cars-allowed’ zone. The village is built amphitheatrically on a hill that offers magnificent views of the island in almost all directions. It is worth noting that it was once the first capital of the island. Its name was Kallisti (meaning the beautiful one) at the time. Need we say more?
The villa is situated in the “Voreina” (Northern) region, beneath the remains of the Venetian castle called ‘’Kasteli’’ located at the top of the hill. This area of the island has maintained all its traditional elements, boasting medieval narrow streets, fortified walls, and hidden passages, all combined with the unique Cycladic local architecture.
Pyrgos boasts a rich history and today is home to many taverns and wine bars, galleries and boutiques, not to mention amazing restored buildings. Some are available for visitors to book, and experience life here just as the locals did for centuries. All in all, Pyrgos is therefore a village rich in history and culture, widely celebrated and adored both by locals and visitors alike .
Access
Guests will enjoy complete and exclusive access to all areas of the villa. The 2 pools, the lounge terraces, the main kitchen, the wine cellar and the exterior bar are shared with another 2 villas, located within the property.
You can therefore choose to relax indoors or outdoors and enjoy full comfort at any time.

We strongly recommend using a vehicle, rented or privately-owned, to enjoy the island of Santorini to its fullest potential.
Taxis could also be utilised, though may be scarce at times during specific parts of the season. In general, enjoying full travel independence either way, is a known ingredient in order to have a fantastic time in Santorini.

Important Notes
- We would kindly ask that you respect the neighbours at all times. We urge your attention to the following ‘quiet hours’ enforced by law; during which you must pay special attention; so that there is no disturbing or excessive noise coming from the villa:
- Summer quiet hours (Apr.1-Sep30): 3PM-5.30PM & 11PM-7AM
- Winter quiet hours (Oct.1-Mar.31): 3.30PM-5.30PM & 10PM-7.30AM
- Upon arrival guests must display a valid form of identification (ID or passport). Also, a short-term rental agreement must be signed as required by current Greek law under the Greek taxation system. Guests will not be able to check in if this requirement is not satisfied.
- The villa’s refurbishment and interior design was constructed utilising the finest materials. We expect you to respect it accordingly. Any damages will incur the relevant charges. In case these are not covered by the deposit held, additional charges will be claimed.
- A range of services can also be arranged on request: Daily cleaning and/or cooking staff, assistance regarding use of the facilities, Transportation & Chauffeur Services, Boat Charters and Trips and other Tailor Made Services. Please just ask.
- Due to the layout of the whole property, Villa Mela can be rented with Villa Vinios and Villa Inos as one rental: Villa Lucia. For even larger groups you can rent out The Santorini Old Winery Villa as one rental by adding Villa Sena in as well.
