The Villa

An architectural and historical jewel, at your disposal. This unique stone-built and spacious 210 sq.m. two-storey villa was originally a beautiful and picturesque early 19th century farmhouse. It was built using locally-sourced stone and utilising the traditional building methods of the era and the wider rural regions of the Cyclades islands complex, artfully positioned in the midst of the Aegean Sea. It consists of two spacious floors and a charming attic. The large garden is a serene and colourful space and it includes a scenic olive tree grove and your own private natural water spring.

This exclusive villa in Andros has now been fully renovated and refurbished. Its original characteristics have been skilfully retained and blended with contemporary elements, ensuring the provision of all modern amenities. The aim was elegance, convenience and comfort. The villa, as well as its garden and the infinity pool with its most exquisite views, can serve as your own private getaway in the most beautiful of rural ‘gardens’ that is the surrounding Mediterranean and Cycladic landscape. Interiors

The interior design of the villa is impeccable, boasting traditional building elements with modern finishes and design. It has been furnished to a high standard, and all its lighting is Flos-designed throughout. Following the philosophy outlined above, the interior of the villa is an artful blend of historical and contemporary, truly unique in elegance and style. The scenic attic is a charming space which includes one bed. The first floor includes the living room, boasting wooden flooring throughout, a large and comfortable 5-person B&B Italian Antonio Citterio sofa and a flat-screen TV with full access subscription to satellite channels (Cosmote TV), among other things.

There is a dining room with an Antonio Citterio dining table and a Miele-designed fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom on this floor boasts a comfortable Duxiana double bed, a Béton Ciré bathroom with a very spacious bathtub for those long soothing baths after a day at the beach or by the infinity pool under the sun. The first floor ceiling follows the traditional Cycladic farmhouse style of the early 19th century and the retained original wooden beams on its high ceilings give this space an airy and comfortable feel.

The lower floor is a unique blend of history and modern comfort. It features stone-built walls, Béton Ciré elements, and a sleeping space with two single beds, a Béton Ciré bathroom, a room with another bed, and an office with an Antonio Citterio-designed chaise-longue. The second living room includes antique armchairs upholstered with Andrew Martin fabrics, a traditional fireplace, and two furnaces. This remarkable space offers a truly unique living and vacationing experience rarely found in typical holiday villa rentals.

Exterior

The outdoor spaces include an infinity pool with breath-taking views across the olive-grove filled hills and the sea, a large and well-kept Mediterranean occasionally stone-cobbled garden with different levels as well as a number of chilling spaces ideal for morning, afternoon or evening relaxation, including verandas on the upper and lower level and a sitting area by the pool. You will have many options to wine and dine, enjoy the sun in all its glory, or gaze at the star-filled sky at night. A last endearing tip is that the moon often shows up opposite the verandas and the infinity pool and there is nothing like being there with a cocktail or a glass of wine to greet it when it rises.

The location also ensures the spectacular views from the villa, garden and infinity pool across the slope, the village of Menites, world-renowned for its mineral water springs, and the bluest Aegean Sea across.

This exclusive villa is ideally situated, being close (a short drive) to some of the he best beaches on the island of Andros: Achla, Vori, Apothikes, Gialia and Piso Gialia to name but a few.  You will be happy to hear that the villa is also next to one of the most beautiful and renowned footpaths of the island, leading you to the Chora (Main Town) of Andros. In recent years, Andros is becoming quite a hotspot for walkers, trekkers, and nature enthusiasts as its world-renowned network of scenic footpaths offers walking experiences guaranteed to relax and impress.

The village

The village of Menites is one of the most beautiful villages in Andros. Built it on Mount Petalo, which is 200m above sea level and surrounded by an abundance of trees and vegetation. It is part of a vivid green and leafy landscape, making it a rare gem on a Cycladic island.. The village is famous for its natural springs, the water fountains and the abundant quantities of water running in streams alongside its cobbled paths.  You can check out online videos depicting its breath-taking beauty by searching for Menites Village Andros Greece. • We would kindly ask that you respect the neighbours at all times. We urge your attention to the following ‘quiet hours’ enforced by law; during which you must pay special attention; so that there is no disturbing or excessive noise coming from the accommodation:
  • Summer quiet hours (Apr.1-Sep30): 3PM-5.30PM & 11PM-7AM
  • Winter quiet hours (Oct.1-Mar.31): 3.30PM-5.30PM & 10PM-7.30AM
• Upon arrival guests must display a valid form of identification (ID or passport). According to the current Greek taxation system, you must sign a short-term rental agreement as required by law. If you do not satisfy this requirement, we will not allow you to check in as a guest.
• This accommodation’s refurbishment and interior design was constructed utilising the finest materials. We expect you to respect it accordingly. Any damages will incur the relevant charges. In case these are not covered by the deposit held, additional charges will be claimed.
