Villa Volca is a fantastic and stylishly interior-designed 2-bedroom holiday villa, ideally positioned at the top level of the Santorini Caldera, with a heated infinity swimming pool and boasting views worth remembering for a lifetime.  This literally means you will enjoy the most fantastic views across the Caldera/Volcano itself, the islands/remnants of the volcano and the sunset over them from most parts of the villa, the superb outdoor terrace and sitting area, as well as the 20sqm heated infinity pool.

The villa is fully independent and private, while still being part of, and serviced by a hotel complex. You can therefore enjoy the best of both worlds: full privacy and autonomy, and all the services offered by the hotel. These services include a 24/7 reception, buffet breakfast and a pool bar that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks any time of the day. And last but not least, maid (twice daily), laundry and ironing services, at the same time. A deal made in heaven.

Interior

Villa Volca has been elegantly designed on the interior and the exterior, by forging together rustique and natural elements and textures with a modern minimal design. Colours are seductively soft and relaxing, yet also simultaneously discreetly vibrant. The aim was to create a relaxing space that serves as a private abode atop this uniquely surreal landscape.

The villa includes 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with Santorinian-style showers, and a living room with a fully equipped open-plan kitchen, complete with all modern amenities. Each bedroom boasts a built-in double bed, and satellite flat-screen TV.

The views from the main bedroom and living room window are simply too magnificent to describe in text, as guests keep telling us.

Exterior

The exterior space of Villa Volca offer plenty of sitting areas, shaded and unshaded, in order for you to enjoy and take in the most out of this surreal Caldera landscape. There are chairs, sun loungers and bean bags outdoors on the terrace, leaving you spoilt for choice. Swimming in the pool while enjoying these exceptional views across the volcano and the Aegean Sea is an experience that will potentially stay with you forever.

The terrace has been designed in the same style as the interior, fusing traditional and modern elements in a minimal approach, with the aim of leaving the surreal blue landscape in front of the villa at the centre of attention. After all, it is this incredibly unique across the world landscape that attracts visitors from around the globe, throughout the year.

Whereabouts

Villa Volca is located on the internationally renowned and adored Caldera of Santorini. This effectively means the villa boasts some of the most impressive views on the globe. People travel from any and every corner of the world just to have a glimpse – and perhaps an occasional photo or two – themselves, while for those staying at Villa Volca this same view is ever present throughout your stay for you to enjoy. Benefiting from this fantastic view over the Caldera, in essence the part of the volcano that sank following the last eruption, while also being a short walk from the traditional village of Megalochori, is a combination made in heaven.

Megalochori is one of the most picturesque villages on the island. Its existence has been traced all the way back to the 17th century. It is known for its famous pirate hideaway spots, wine canavas and impressive historical mansions and traditional houses. These are rich in idiosyncratic architectural features like high ceilings, inner courtyards and solid wooden door entrances, whose function was both to ensure privacy as well as protect against pirates that regularly raided the island during medieval times.

Megalochori is therefore a village rich in history and culture, widely celebrated and visited by both locals and visitors. It also boasts a rich history of trade and commerce, as the prosperous land barons systematically exported the famous Vinsanto wine, still produced to this day, across the globe and to lands far beyond. Villa Volca is ideally located so that you enjoy the astonishing views across the Caldera, as well as explore every corner of this unique and most charming region.

Access

Guests will enjoy complete and exclusive access to all areas of the villa, its private terrace and heated infinity swimming pool, during their stay.

You can therefore choose to relax indoors or outdoors and enjoy the fantastic views in full comfort and privacy, at any time.

Directions & Getting Around

We strongly recommend using a vehicle, rented or privately-owned, to enjoy the island of Santorini to its fullest potential.

Taxis could also be utilised, though may be scarce at times during specific parts of the season. In general, enjoying full travel independence either way, is a known ingredient in order to have a fantastic time in Santorini.

Important Notes

• We would kindly ask that you respect the neighbours at all times. We urge your attention to the following ‘quiet hours’ enforced by law; during which you must pay special attention; so that there is no disturbing or excessive noise coming from the villa:
  • Summer quiet hours (Apr.1-Sep30): 3PM-5.30PM & 11PM-7AM
  • Winter quiet hours (Oct.1-Mar.31): 3.30PM-5.30PM & 10PM-7.30AM
• Upon arrival guests must display a valid form of identification (ID or passport). Also, a short-term rental agreement must be signed as required by current Greek law under the Greek taxation system. Guests will not be able to check in if this requirement is not satisfied.
• The villa’s refurbishment and interior design was constructed utilising the finest materials. We expect you to respect it accordingly. Any damages will incur the relevant charges. In case these are not covered by the deposit held, additional charges will be claimed.
• A range of services can also be arranged on request: Daily cleaning and/or cooking staff, assistance regarding use of the facilities, Transportation & Chauffeur Services, Boat Charters and Trips and other Tailor Made Services. Please just ask.
